  1. Several pairs of backup

    for example,
    1) source c: destination: d:\backup_of_c
    2) source d: destination: d:\backup_of_d
    3) ... and etc
and add parameter - when start in first time (it's help to make backups in different time)
    imho, good idea... ;-)

    • how about actually making software that works

make software that will backup a hard drive onto a backup disk drive, then have it where you can go on the program and pick a backup you want to recover to, and then have it so your software Time Machine will actually do that, instead of getting stuck in an endless loop of booting up to options screen over and over, over again

      • Add a more obvious place to report bugs

This seems like it's designed for features and suggestions not bugs. I mean who wants to cast votes for bugs? At any rate, I clicked on the language popup in the upper right hand corner (my says "English" and the app hung. After several minutes Windows 7 offered to kill it so I let it. Then when it restarts it doesn't resume the backup. It looks like it will about an hour from now but I would think there would be a way to restart the backup. I'm a brand new user so maybe I'm missing something.

        • Start with Windows Option

          Hello,

I have a question and a possible feature (option) request.
Whether or not TM starts on boot is tied to whether automatic back-up is on or off. I would like to do only manual back-ups but at the same time would like TM to start automatically when my system boots (so it will always be in the tray and ready for use). The question is have I missed something or is this currently not possible?
If this is indeed not possible, could an option be added so that when automatic back-up is turned off, I could still have TM…

            • Backup even with no external drive connected

Yep, sounds insane. But that's what Apple Time Machine does on a laptop. When the Time Machine drive is not connected, Time Machine performs backup in an hidden folder, which is synced with the TM drive when connected, when you're back home or office.

Which means that you can recover files that have been accidentaly erased, provided they have been created for more than one hour.

Saved my day more than once.

              • Laptop sleep mode causes error

When my laptop has been in sleep mode, ax64 often comes up with an error that it can not connect or enumerate backups that reside on the NAS. I assume that this is because the network and connections to the NAS need a few seconds to re-establish themselves and cause ax64 to hiccup. If I close ax64 and relaunch, the issue is no longer present. I am experiencing this on version 2.0.0.548 and have seen it on previous 2.x versions. It happens 99% of the time on my laptop as I leave it in a sleep mode usually when not…

                • Add an "Advanced options check"

The program is fantastic!!! Similar to apple time machine. It is all I wish in windows.

I see other users wants more advanced options (specific time programations on days, more or less frequency backups, other folders, etc). I am informatic and I understand it. But do not forget the simplify program!!!

                  So

A "Show and modify advanced options" check is beautiful. With this unchecked box, all options are the 99% users agree.

If you check this option, it allow modify all advanced options.

If you uncheck the box, all returns to its default settings.

                  Thanks!!!

                  • Allow several destinations

I just bought Time Machine, which seems very interesting, and with a good -yet not totally polished- UI.

As I am paranoid about backup, I'd like to be able to switch from a NAS drive to others drives.

The NAS would be the main drive, connected as I soon as I am at home. But I'd like to perform a security backup every week on an external drive, kept in a secure location (in fact, 2 drives with a weekly rotation - only paranoid can survive in an IT world).

Sometimes when one insert a usb disk the pc will allocate it the same drive letter as the backup drive. Is it possible to have the program check for a drive label to make sure it backup to the right drive?

StorageCraft ShadowProtect is used by many users (both IT and home) because of its feature sets. Therefore, it would increase AX64 market base if it works with StorageCraft ShadowProtect.

                          • Backup should detect changes in operating version, or service pack installations

Backup should detect changes in operating version. I have my first copy on windows vista (kernel NT 6.0), then windows 7 (kernel 6.1), then windows 8 (kernel 6.2), but all incremental. You should detect kernel version changes, and force full backup if change detected, because incremental backup of windows actualizarion does not work!! I had to restore last windows vista backup.
Perhaps, an interval to force full backup... "Full backup forced every x days/months.

I don't know if this is a bug or a missing feature, but on my system, AX64 doesn't see the Dynamic disk as a source disk. It does pop up as a possible destination however.
In my case, the Dynamic disk is not spanned across several physical disks, but I do see that as a possibility (especially for the SSD's).

                                • when selecting a single file or folder to recover, a right mouse click and "restore to original location" would be good

I know you can "copy" the file/folder from backup but then have to open and explorer session to navigate to the original location to past & overwrite the original file but this option would make it easier, maybe also the current file could be renamed to "currentfile.txt.prev" ?? prioir to restore. ?

I see someone else suggested this back in august and Isso said it had been implemented in v2 ?? i cannot see any way to have multiple backup jobs ?.

I have multiple partitions and would like to be able to have a backup job for each on auto backup too.

                                      • Make backup bootable

if a dedicate a disk drive for backup and the backup will be bootable then after disk crash all I need is to change the boot drive. Later, when I have the crashed internal drive I just do a full backup onto the new internal drive and boot again from that.

                                        • cannot save the backup c100000a code 0

                                          Please help me

"cannot save the backup c100000a code 0" ist the error that always appears, when trying to perform a backup.

                                          What can be done?
