      • Change the default Backup folder name/address after backup

If user change the default folder name D:\My Backups to D:\BK there is no way to set this new folder's name/address as new default to AX64, and AX64 will start to do full backup instead of incremental!!
Even If you rename D:\BK to D:\My Backups AX64 won't detect revert!!!!

        • Trigger backup by certain file

Option to Trigger a backup when a certain file is started.
          Like setup.exe setup.cmd install.exe etc
So that you can always revert back
This is very handy, in case you forget to make a backup first.

          • Think again about game detection

...or something, so Hourly Backup can skip whenever there is high system usage.

During a game there are stutters (short pauses) and frame rate drops everytime when a backup starts.

I posted a while ago about this but that was probably overlooked as it was a reply on a declined(?) topic.

If "there is no scope for this feature" means:
            - "it is not necessary" then I disagree.
            - "it is not possible" then I doubt that.
            - "you are the only one" then I apologize, any suggestions on what it might be then, are welcome.

            I really like…

Add wifi support to restore environment. Many people have wifi hard drives (airport time capsule, USB wifi routers...). I had to copy all backup files to an external USB disk to restore my PC. But backups are on wifi.

              • Provide detailed information about your latest version

Provide detailed information about your latest version on the download page or a check whether I have the latest version. Presently I have to download and install the latest version to get that information. This way I have found that I have already later version than published.

                • various ideas

Please allow the storage path for backups textfield to be manually edited. Setting this to a network path can get quite burdensome and it will always use the computer name, not the IP address, which is more reliable. ( http://i.imgur.com/9pQUp8Z.png )

Let us choose the directory in which the backups get saved to. 'My Backups' does not look very pleasing.

This dialog uses a font which does not get cleartype. Also, it looks like from the Windows 95 era. ( http://i.imgur.com/wE8mLbq.png )

Time Machine should also back up, when there is no user logged on.

                  The time interval for backups…

                  • Translation

                    Greetings,

When AX64 Time Machine was still in v1, I once offered Isso my help for localization if he planned to introduce multilingual feature. Now it has really been incorporated in v2, I come to keep my word. Are you interested in having Time Machine "speaks" Indonesian? :) I may do Portuguese too.

                    Thank you in advance,

                    elda

                        • Create KEYBOARD EQUIVALENTS for the RECOVERY environment

With all the myriad of problems many system configurations are having with "dead mice" during the use of the RECOVERY MEDIA, a good programming practice would be to produce KEYBOARD EQUIVALENTS for use as an alternative. This way, even those with dead mice can completely use the RECOVERY environment when needed (which is usually during reasonably dire circumstances... a time when you really need complete functionality).

A minimum would be strokes to access all the offered panes (Backup selection, directory/folder selection and file selection) as well as a way to access the MENU bar for command execution. The existing arrow…

Reorg Create Recovery Media - the install to hard disk is confusing with creating removable media; I would create a window with 2 sections - one labelled Create Removable Media and another Install to Computer's Hard Disk as Boot Option - I'd selected create ISO and kept clicking INSTALL and wondered where the ISO was created

Even if ax64 is fully capable to backup encrypted disks (e.g. with Symantec PGP), the clean restoration of the volume is not possible yet. My idea is to integrate in AX64 the possibility to do a decrypted backup as it is possible to do on Mac OSX. Thx !

                              • Several items to address

Get rid of your browser and integrate the functionality into Windows/File Explorer. Other vendors who allow mounting of non-native file systems implement this. Think Dokan Mounter.

Add granularity to the time that backups are performed. One hour is not necessarily short or long enough between backups. A user specified timeframe for backups would be a better choice.

DO NOT hide the partition where the backups are created. There are specific needs for admins to be able to backup/restore/move and resize partitions on disks. Use a standardised partition ID for where the backups are stored.

Specify a retention period for backups.…

Had to let you know about this. While I was restoring my laptop with AX64, I got a BSOD in Win 8. Subsequently I could not even get into the BIOS or Safe Mode. Unfortunately, I had not yet created a Recovery Disk. To my surprise, the AX64 Recovery Disk I had created with another PC, a desktop, worked and let me restore my system just like there had been no problem! What a great application!

This will be in the next release of the software and will work for Vista onwards. There will be no XP support for this feature.

                                    • Add right click entries for backup & restore.

                                      Entry 1. Incremental backup
Entry 2. Full backup (deletes existing backups)
Entry 3. Restore (opens AX64 browser)

                                      • Backup Schedule for certain times of the day (8AM, 12PM, 3PM,...)

Similar but not the same as every so many hours. Such specific times work better for me than every ___ hrs, depending on how the hours fall.
For this reason some might find it more helpful to be able to set the times you want a backup to run.

                                        • Restrict usable backup space to less than avaialble. Useful for NAS storing mutiple computer backups with no partitioning

Some NAS can only make shares that each have the full drive's size listed. This would prevent backups from using more than it's fair share of space.
