    • Backup Schedule for certain times of the day (8AM, 12PM, 3PM,...)

Similar but not the same as every so many hours. Such specific times work better for me than every ___ hrs, depending on how the hours fall.
For this reason some might find it more helpful to be able to set the times you want a backup to run.

      • Restrict usable backup space to less than avaialble. Useful for NAS storing mutiple computer backups with no partitioning

Some NAS can only make shares that each have the full drive's size listed. This would prevent backups from using more than it's fair share of space.

It is planned to add this feature however it will work with another installation that connects in to AX64 and can be viewed remotely.

            • Add an options/preferences menu

Perhaps an options menu can be added at some stage so that the program can be customised to the user. Adding items such as how the enter button behaves when putting in description for a particular backup etc.

There maybe other items users may like to customise

              • Email notification of failed backups (ideally via a cloud based notification service)

I want to know if a given PC isn't backing up (e.g. due to an application problem, network drive mapping problem or NAS problem for example).
Since I'm not using the PCs in question I wouldn't know that there's a problem. Also the users (my family) aren't techie enough to notice :-)

What i'd like to see is the option for failed backup reports (to be emailed to me).

I know this could be added as an option where as part of the setup I'd have to enter all the normal email details to the application during configuration (e.g. from…

                  • Allow Use/Installation on both Administrator and Limited/Guest Accounts

Current version seems to only allow use/installation on Administrator account. Installation while logged into Guest account using 'Run as Administrator' doesn't work (installation completes, but app not accessible). Perhaps it should install to ALL USERS and allow use/backup protection from any account. (For example, to protect a PC with both types of accounts).

                      • Notification of need to recreate Recovery Disk

Just thinking that if the recreation of the Recovery Media is required periodically due to changes/fixes/new releases then it might be an idea to indicate this via the GUI, i.e., instead of displaying 'Create Recovery Media...' on the button change that to 'RECREATE Recovery Media...' and also change the colour of the button to RED or a different colour. That would warn the user that they needed to undertake this and you could then just reset the normal button text/colour once AXTM detects that a successful Recovery Media creation event has taken place, etc.

I really appreciate you adding the feature for editing notes. It's a big help, however I had a couple of things in mind when I posted the original idea:
                          1. A Larger Window
                          2. Much greater Capacity for number of characters in notes

I use copious notes to remind me of the purpose and the context for each HD image. Here's an example of one text file:

                          ----------
                          AX64 BUP MSG:

                              • Add backup shemes

I would buy your software if i could set up intelligent backup sheme like they are used in the full fleged imaging programs:

                                1. create 1 full backup then 6 incrementals (= one "Chain")
                                2. Keep the last 5 chains, delete older chains

This has several Advantages over the automatic merging of images:

                                1. It consumes more space but doesn't slow down Pc, since he doesn't have to merge only delete old backups
                                2. You have a much longer history of Images (=security) for errors (like virus) that are not discovered immediatley.
                                3. This would also satisfy the needs of…

                                  • Provide a time-frame setting for auto-backup.

Replace the 'Automatic hourly backup' checkbox with 'Automatic Backup'. Provide an auto-backup setting option whereby one can choose one of the following for the automatic time-frame:

                                    Every x-hours (specify a value for x).
At every system startup and restart.
                                    Once daily at startup.
                                    Once daily at shutdown.

                                    • start AXTM Job via Backup

I would like to have the possibility not only to let AXTM Backup automatically but to be able to start Imaging from a batch file.

                                      • Add a "Check for Updates" link to the AX64 main screen.

No Time Machine should be without one.

                                        • (NAS Users) Be able to set a default path / mapped drive during the "Create Recovery Media" operation.

If you use a NAS to store your AXTM backups you have to map a network drive to the NAS / folder during the Recovery process. If you have an attached (USB) drive this process is not necessary.
